In order to pursue outreach, Nu-Trek created a separate Division, Nu-Edu. Nu-Trek, Inc. Nu-Edu’s team includes Scientists, Educators, and e-learning experts and specializes in introducing K-12 students to contemporary science and technology. Nu-Edu targets a diverse student population, its educational products are designed to fulfill specific science content standards, and it engage the students in fun activities such as space flight centers, web-quests, and multi-disciplinary exhibits.

In Nu-Edu’s first project Moon, Mars, and Beyond, which was funded by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center ( GSFC), 8 th grade students from Rincon and Grant Escondido Middle Schools will form Space Flight Centers and study the technical challenges that will need to be overcome in order to establish human presence in space. They will also be involved in searching for other life forms in the solar system and beyond.

This work is funded by a Phase I Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant. In Phase II Nu-Edu will expand the programming to grades K-12, develop a more comprehensive curriculum, increase the number of participating schools, and conduct teacher training. All materials will become part of the Digital Library for Earth System Education ( DLESE).

u-Edu would like to expand its offering to other technical subject matters such as robotics, advanced lighting, electronic materials, and alternative energy sources. We aspire to be the outreach provider of choice, for bringing complex cutting edge technologies into the classroom.
