Nu-Trek customizes verified Hard Core IP to customer requirements. Deliverables are either in the form of GDSII files or in the form of wafers, die, or packaged parts. The GDS II files that can taped out directly or merged with customer ICs. Proven designs for video rate, 14-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converters, high dynamic range GPS receiver front ends, and parts used in circumvention and recovery are available. Please see the Hard Core IP section of the website for additional details.
The figure below illustrates the implementation of one of Nu-Trek's RFICs into the RF section of a GPS receiver. Nu-Trek's RFICs significantly reduce the footprint of high-end GPS receivers designed for operation in highly jammed environments. On the left is a representative GPS receiver made with COTS. On the right, most of the COTS were replaced with two, 2-channel Nu-Trek RFICs. Each RFIC replaces about 10 COTS. The power consumption of the illustrated IC is about 110 mW, ¼ the power of the COTS that are presently in use.
